Mental Health Conferences
The Foundation annually plans, promotes and underwrites a Community Mental Health Conference. The Conference - attended by more than 300 professionals, consumers, family members and concerned public - addresses critical mental health issues such as bipolar disorder and depression.

Teen Essay Contest
The Foundation underwrites an Annual Teen Essay Contest conducted by the Mental Health Association of the North Shore. Now in its sixth year, the contest addresses the mental health needs of adolescents. Sarah Wagoner won the the 2008 contest of which the topic was “What It's Like, Or Must Be Like, To Grow Up as a Female in the 21st century ” The contest was founded by Sharon Weingarten, MSW, LSW.
Foundation Fellowship
Each year we give a significant fellowship to an advanced full time Clinical Psychology student at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology who intends to work to combat mental health stigma.
Programs for the African American and Latino Communities
The Foundation sponsors mental health programs in the African American and Latino communities, partnering with clergy and community leaders to present programs on depression.
